Located in sunny San Diego, California, Standard Inspection Services has specialized in Ship Building and Ship Repair since the company was founded in 2016. They also provide services to Building Construction, Aerospace, Bridge, Pipeline, Manufacturing and Fabrication industries for government and commercial entities. Additionally, they offer NDT Inspection Services and Weld Training/Certification.

The Problem

As a provider of weld training and certification, indoor air quality was a major concern for Standard Inspection Services. Hexavalent chromium, metallic oxides, silicates, fluorides and shielding gases are just some of the harmful byproducts found in weld fumes. If left unchecked, inhaled weld fumes can lead to critical immediate consequences such as asphyxiation and suffocation. Other long-term health conditions posed by exposure to weld fumes include:

The Solution

Diversitech was able to provide a quote that addressed the needs of Standard Inspection Services. The chosen solution featured two FRED Eco Wall-mounted Fume Extractors capturing weld fumes generated from three Diversitech Welding Booths. Diversitech then turned the project over to Kyle Maxwell of B & M Industries – an Authorized Dealer of Diversitech products. Standard Inspection Services handled the installation of the equipment themselves.

Conclusion

Standard Inspection Services was so pleased with the solution provided by Diversitech that they plan on placing an order for additional units later in 2020. Additionally, they have referred additional customers to Diversitech: Continental Tide and Valkyrie.
